A Vacation Home is a second home. Usually, it is an occasional use property in a resort area, which can be rented out by the owners when not in use by them.

The zone between land surface and the water table within which the moisture content is less than saturation (except in the capillary fringe) and pressure is less than atmospheric. Soil pore space also typically contains air or other gases. The capillary fringe is included in the vadose zone.

The act of a Validation Body to confirm that a Project meets the Program Requirements.

The process of independent, third-party evaluation of a mitigation activity requesting registration under a carbon-crediting program by an accredited Validation and Verification Body (VVB) against the program provisions of the applicable carbon-crediting program.

An independent third party pre-approved by the carbon offset registry that conducts an audit of the project design during the auditing stage of the carbon offset certification process.

The Person accredited to perform Validation of a Project under the ISO 14065 standard or the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000, and which has been certified by Capturiant to perform Validation Services in accordance with the Program Requirements.

Those requirements applicable to Validation Bodies and Verification Bodies, which are provided by Capturiant or published on the Capturiant Website, and which establish the standards and requirements for such bodies to become approved by Capturiant to provide Validation Services and Verification services to Project Developers in accordance with the Capturiant Program Requirements.

The written report of validation prepared by the validation/verification body in accordance with the VCS Program rules
